About You
Are you a experienced Accountant looking to grow your expertise and make a difference on projects across the world? Buro Happold is looking to recruit an Senior Management Accountant with focus on Europe to join our Finance Team at our office in Warsaw or Lublin.
Your key duties
- Perform month‑end close activities, including preparation, verification, and posting of accruals.
- Monitor budget vs. actuals and support the budgeting and forecasting cycles the FA&P team.
- Post payroll entries for CE Europe entities.
- Reconcile prepayments, review ageing, and ensure correct amortisation.
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Support statutory accounting alignment and ensure compliance with local requirements.
- Assist internal and external audits with required documentation and explanations.
- Prepare quarterly cost reporting and provide variance explanations.
- Verify the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of entries.
- Review, check, and approve payments in line with internal controls.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to junior team members.
- Contribute to internal control assessments and compliance reviews.
Your skills and experience
As an experienced Senior Management Accountant, it is expected that you would be able to demonstrate:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance function.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with teams and business stakeholders.
- Fluency in Polish and a very good command of English; German language skills are an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and strong general systems skills.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- A team‑oriented mindset with a proactive and solution‑focused approach.
