About You
Are you a experienced Accountant looking to grow your expertise and make a difference on projects across the world? Buro Happold is looking to recruit an Senior Accountant with focus on Europe to join our Finance Team at our office in Warsaw or Lublin.
Your key duties
- Oversee the end‑to‑end invoicing process, including issuing and posting sales invoices for CE Europe entities.
- Post nettings and perform reconciliations within the region.
- Lead the bad debt collection process and actively monitor overdue receivables.
- Contribute to cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
- Confirm and reconcile open balances and WIP with contractors, business partners, and the Group.
- Prepare internal reports, financial summaries, and client‑facing analyses.
- Coordinate document flow and ensure proper archiving and compliance of accounting records.
- Support the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Assist with communication and coordination during external audits.
- Participate in cross‑border finance projects and collaborative initiatives.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to junior team members.
- Contribute to internal control assessments and compliance reviews.
Your skills and experience
As an experienced Senior Accountant, it is expected that you would be able to demonstrate:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance function.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with teams and business stakeholders.
- Fluency in Polish and a very good command of English; German language skills are an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and strong general systems skills.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- A team‑oriented mindset with a proactive and solution‑focused approach.
