Senior Cities Consultant (Buro Happold Consulting Engineers, Inc., New York, NY):
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to complete complex urban and regional planning, engineering, and policy advisory assignments.
- Responsible for developing project work plans, scopes, timelines, costing, and specific analyses to be completed.
- Research and provide direction in development of policy, program, and design recommendations.
- Conduct climate resilience, stormwater and water, and waste modeling and assessments.
- Create and deliver reports, presentations, models, and other deliverables for key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with governmental and quasi-governmental entities, private sector clients, civic and community organizations, cultural and professional organizations, and advocacy groups.
- Facilitate workshops with expert panels around sustainability, resilience, and planning projects.
- Leverage understanding of urban development challenges and spatial analytical understanding to develop an integrated offer, including contributing planning, economics, infrastructure, and/or environmental inputs.
- Liaise with internal and external clients to promote urban analytics and deliver high quality inputs into their projects.
- Leverage technology to provide innovative and creative solutions for clients.
- Innovate and contribute to the development of new digital products and service offerings.
- Utilize ArcGIS or QGIS.
- Utilize ArcGIS extensions (Network Analyst, 3D, Analyst, and Spatial Analyst).
- Apply cartographic design and design principles.
- Perform data management, analysis, and visualization in GIS, Python, or R.
- Convert datasets for client-side delivery.
- Implement GIS standards and deliver large scale infrastructure and development-based GIS projects.
- Perform large scale, multi-disciplinary stormwater management and climate resilience projects for campuses and cities.
- Perform climate hazard and impact modeling including flood modeling using Infoworks Integrated Catchment Modeling (ICM) software or Storm Water Management Modeling (SWMM).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Earth and Environmental Engineering or a related field of study.
- Two (2) years of experience with ArcGIS or QGIS; ArcGIS extensions (Network Analyst, 3D, Analyst, and Spatial Analyst); cartographic design and design principles; data management, analysis, and visualization in GIS, Python, or R; converting datasets for client-side delivery; implementing GIS standards and delivering large scale infrastructure and development-based GIS projects; large scale, multi-disciplinary stormwater management and climate resilience projects for campuses and cities; and/or, climate hazard and impact modeling including flood modeling using Infoworks Integrated Catchment Modeling (ICM) software or Storm Water Management Modeling (SWMM).
The salary is $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually.
