Trainee BIM Technician (MEP)

We are looking for a Trainee BIM Technician to join our growing MEP team in Hong Kong. 

In this role you will be working in a talented team on a diverse portfolio of projects in Hong Kong and further afield.

Your next role

In this role you will be trained to support the MEP BIM Manager in the development and management of Building Information Models (BIM) for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. This role focuses on assisting in the creation of accurate models, coordinating with various disciplines, and ensuring that project deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.

Key Duties:

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of detailed MEP models using BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Support the BIM Manger in conducting clash detection and resolution by analyzing models for potential conflicts.
  • Help prepare drawings, specifications, and documentation for MEP systems.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings to discuss model updates and technical issues.
  • Assist in implementing BIM execution plans and workflows across projects.
  • Conduct quality checks on BIM models to ensure compliance with design standards and project requirements.
  • Maintain organized records of project files, including design changes and revisions.
  • Collaborate with team members to gather information and develop solutions for design challenges.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in BIM technology.


Your skills & qualifications

  • Fresh graduates or candidates with limited experience are welcome to apply.
  • Flexibility to learn and willingness to adopt new technologies
  • Basic proficiency in BIM software, particularly Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of MEP systems and their components (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and assist in problem-solving.
  • Experience in construction or engineering environments is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic training or coursework in BIM or related software is advantageous.
  • Participation in relevant workshops or training sessions offered by CIC or other recognized institutions is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese.
