Your next role:

  • Develop strategic demand models for large-scale masterplans or road corridor studies which involves network update and coding using scripts, model assignment runs and extraction of results. 
  • Prepare travel demand calculations for large scale masterplan and assist in analysing land-use, demographic and traffic data.
  • Conduct capacity analysis for roads and intersections using software for existing and future scenarios.
  • Prepare technical reports based on the evaluation of mitigation measures for the strategic model. 
  • Expertise in working in strategic modelling using software – PTV VISUM.
  • Proficient in using scripting and programming languages like R, Python, or any other language.
  • Candidate with analytical abilities which includes high degree of competence in MS Excel, VBA and Macros would be preferred.
  • Working knowledge of other software’s like VISSIM, Sidra, Synchro (optional) etc.

Your skills and experience

  • Masters in Transportation Engineering / Planning + bachelor’s in civil engineering. 
  • 6+ years of experience in using traffic and demand modelling. 
  • Experience in applying HCM procedures in traffic studies. 
  • Candidate must have experience in transportation engineering and strategic modelling with at least 2 projects involving complex traffic study analysis and modelling in middle east or other international projects.

Our transport team works across a variety of exciting projects around the world, with work varying from strategic master planning at a regional and city level, district masterplans, complex buildings and TOD, public realm and streetscape. We are looking for a Transport Modeller who is willing to bring their knowledge and expertise in the field of transportation engineering to Buro Happold. The engineer must perform basic to complex strategic models and simulations in co-ordination with our wider team which involves Transport Planners.

 In this role you will work with a range of colleagues, giving you the opportunity to develop relationships across the business with projects in India, UK and Middle East. You will quickly learn about the different areas of Buro Happold, and the potential for career progression will be excellent.
