Your next role
- Play the role of Facades Job leader for projects led by the India team.
- Work as part of a single or multi-disciplinary team attending and chairing meetings with architects, contractors, etc. in an advisory capacity.
- Developing jobs technically from initial client ideas.
- Good presentation and communication skills.
- Provide clear input on design calculations for bids, BH project specific work for India office & work share.
- Support senior staff in providing strong design leadership on Façade Issues to the rest of the Client’s design team.
- Maintain good client relations throughout the job and work with a variety of stakeholders.
- Mentor more junior team members, potentially leading to line management.
Considerable experience of Design which should ideally include the majority of the following:
- Awareness of different type of façade systems & materials. You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of at least.
- three materials & system.
- Awareness of basic weather Performance Issues.
- Awareness of standards & acceptable criteria for façade elements.
- Fundamental Building Physics: Ventilation, Solar gain control, Thermal Insulation, Glare control etc.
- Secondary Steel Structural Design.
- Glass structural design.
- Experience of the practical aspects of handling and fabrication processes shall be an added advantage.
- Good awareness of the problems and constraints of the other major design disciplines such as Architectural, Structures, Services, Fire Engineering, Acoustics, and Computer modelling etc.
- Achieved or working towards Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer or equivalent registration of other appropriate body.
Your skills and experience
- Bachelors / Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering, Other formal qualifications such as the MSc in Façade Engineering from Bath University or PhD level research would naturally be of great interest.
- Minimum 5 + years of experience as façade structural engineer in either façade design consultancy / façade contractor firm.
- Should have hands on experience in working of analysis software’s like Staad Pro, Mepla etc. Experience of working in Revit / Rhino / Grasshopper would be an added advantage.
- Should have good skills in office software’s like excel, power point, Bluebeam, adobe for preparation of reports & presentations.
