Join our growing Programme Advisory and Capital Projects team as a Senior Consultant and play a pivotal role in delivering transformative capital programmes across the public and private sectors. Our team specialises in helping clients define, secure funding for, and successfully deliver major capital programmes through:
- Delivery strategy and business case development
- Programme strategy and PMO establishment

- Asset and facilities management strategy
Key duties
Client Delivery & Project Execution
- Deliver project workstreams as the primary point of contact for specific work areas, producing quality outputs that meet client expectations and project objectives
- Contribute to end-to-end project delivery, working under the guidance of Managers to execute client assignments across all phases from scoping through to implementation
- Conduct comprehensive analysis including quantitative and qualitative research, stakeholder interviews, and data collection to inform recommendations and deliverables
- Prepare high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations, business cases, and strategic frameworks that communicate complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders
- Support commercial management by monitoring project budgets, tracking time, and flagging scope changes or risks to project leadership
- Quality assure work products from junior team members, providing constructive feedback and ensuring consistency with client requirements
Business Development & Market Engagement
- Support business development activities by contributing to proposals, RFP responses, and pitch preparations with compelling content and technical expertise
- Identify commercial opportunities within existing client accounts, recognising areas where additional value can be delivered
- Build and maintain professional networks within the capital projects and infrastructure sectors, developing relationships that support future growth
- Contribute to proposition development by bringing market insights, lessons learned, and innovative approaches to strengthen service offerings.
Team Collaboration & Development
- Mentor and guide junior colleagues, providing day-to-day direction on tasks and supporting their professional development
- Collaborate across disciplines working with colleagues from engineering, project management, commercial, and technical backgrounds to deliver integrated solutions
- Contribute to knowledge sharing by documenting methodologies, participating in internal training, and sharing insights from client engagements
- Support team delivery by taking ownership of challenging work areas and demonstrating accountability for outcomes
Your skills & experience
Essential
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in capital projects, programme advisory, or management consulting, ideally with exposure to major infrastructure or built environment programmes
- Consulting or advisory background with demonstrated experience in client-facing roles delivering strategic advice and implementation support
- Technical understanding of capital project delivery including design, procurement, construction, contract management, or programme governance
- Relevant professional qualification or working towards one (e.g., APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or industry-specific certifications such as MICE, MRICS, or equivalent)
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesise complex information, identify key issues, and develop evidence-based recommendations
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to varied audiences including senior stakeholders
- Commercial awareness and understanding of how capital projects are funded, procured, and delivered in public and private sectors
- Proven project management skills with experience managing workstreams, coordinating team efforts, and delivering to deadlines.
Desirable
- Prior experience working for a major consulting firm (e.g., Big 4, Tier 2 consultancies, or specialist advisory practices)
- Background in the construction industry through roles in design consultancy, project management, cost consultancy, or client-side delivery organisations
- Experience with PMO establishment, assurance reviews, or governance framework design
- Knowledge of business case development and investment appraisal methodologies (e.g., HM Treasury Green Book, Five Case Model)
- Sector expertise in real estate, education, infrastructure, utilities, healthcare or transport
- Business development experience including proposal writing or client relationship management.
