We are looking for a talented and experienced Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer to join our hybrid team in Washington, DC.

Your next role
As a key part of the team, your responsibilities will be varied, but likely to include:
- Delivery of detailed design across; plumbing and fire protection, ground sanitary/waste and rainwater drainage systems, below ground drainage, domestic hot and cold-water services, rainwater harvesting systems, black and grey water systems
- Embrace the latest technologies to improve performance and sustainability
- Demonstrate technical mentorship and leadership to our graduate engineers by supporting and encouraging their progression with Buro Happold
- Engage with all disciplines to promote a coordinated developed design
Your skills and experience
- 3+ years of plumbing and fire protection engineering experience
- Relevant bachelor or master degree
- FE
- PE desired but not required
- Experience using Revit, Bluebeam and BIM360
- Understanding of sustainable plumbing design and systems like rainwater harvesting systems, black and grey water systems, domestic hot water pre heat, and/or electrification
- Able to review and analyze code if in new and unfamiliar areas and has a deep understanding of IPC, NFPA, related plumbing standards and aware of UPC
- Broad design knowledge, from working on a wide range of US and international projects
- Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible manner
- Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
What we offer:
- Salary range of $85,000 to $95,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
