Senior Hydraulic Engineer - UK
We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Hydraulic Engineer – UK in our Bengaluru office who will be a key member of our Infrastructure group to work on projects in India and across the world.
As a Flood Risk Modeller/ hydraulic engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering hydrological and hydraulic modelling services for flood risk assessments, drainage studies, and water resource projects. You will support both national and international clients, contributing to sustainable infrastructure and environmental solutions.

Your next role:
- Perform flood risk assessments (FRA), flood mapping, and scenario analysis.
- Taking responsibility for delivery of hydrological and hydraulic modelling components of the group’s capability, as agreed with group leader
- Working on a range of domestic and international engineering projects, from a building scale to regional analysis;
- Interpreting modelling results;
- Problem solving to develop practical engineering solutions;
- Presenting analysis and proposed solutions to clients and stakeholders;
- Coordinating work with other members of the project team both internally and externally;
- Assisting with the strategic direction of our projects in particular the hydrological and hydraulic modelling processes.
- Leading the technical components of small to medium sized projects;
- Assisting senior staff with fee proposals and business development;
- Planning and resourcing hydraulic modelling processes.
- Delivery of hydrological and hydraulic modelling tasks to budget and programme;
- Reviewing modelling work undertaken by others to maintain the required level of quality of our processes and outputs.
- Taking a lead in technical mentoring and training junior staff in modelling skills.

Your skills and experience
- Confident, proactive character, who enjoys working in a team, with an ability to take the lead in challenging situations with the confidence to question engineers regarding coordination of details
- Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics and 1d-2d flood modelling principles
- In-depth experience of modelling complex hydrological and hydraulic analyses and developing flood mitigation measures.
- Experience with a range of hydraulic software packages (TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS);
- Experience with GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS) and AutoCAD;
- An interest in developing experience of coastal modelling;
- Ability to communicate technical subjects, good written and verbal skills;
- Experience of working on a one-to-one basis and in team working situations;
- Some experience or desire to develop client facing experience;
- Working towards or having achieved Chartered status;
