About You
Are you an experienced Accountant ready to make an immediate impact in an international environment? Buro Happold is looking to recruit an Interim Accountant (Europe focus) to join our Finance Team in Poland.This is a temporary opportunity to step into a key role within our Central European finance operations. You will contribute your expertise to a well-established setup, ensuring smooth and efficient accounting processes while collaborating closely with an international team.
Your key duties
- Oversee the end‑to‑end invoicing process, including issuing and posting sales invoices for CE Europe entities.
- Post nettings and perform reconciliations within the region.
- Lead the bad debt collection process and actively monitor overdue receivables.
- Contribute to cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
- Confirm and reconcile open balances and WIP with contractors, business partners, and the Group.
- Prepare internal reports, financial summaries, and client‑facing analyses.
- Coordinate document flow and ensure proper archiving and compliance of accounting records.
- Assist with communication and coordination during external audits.
- Participate in cross‑border finance projects and collaborative initiatives.
- Contribute to internal control assessments and compliance reviews.
Your skills and experience
As an experienced Accountant, it is expected that you would be able to demonstrate:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance function.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in Polish and a very good command of English (German is an advantage).
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and strong systems skills.
- Strong hands-on mindset with a focus on delivery and accuracy
- Ability to quickly understand existing processes and systems
