Flood Risk Modelling Engineer

We are seeking an flood risk modeller with 3–6 years of experience to join our Infrastructure group. In this key role, you will contribute to projects both in India and internationally.

As a Flood Risk Modeller, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering hydrological and hydraulic modelling services for flood risk assessments, drainage studies, and water resource projects. You will support both national and international clients, contributing to sustainable infrastructure and environmental solutions.

Your next role:

  • Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modelling using 1D and 2D software platforms (e.g., TUFLOW, Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, MIKE).
  • Perform flood risk assessments (FRA), flood mapping, and scenario analysis.
  • Develop and calibrate models using data from field surveys, GIS, and remote sensing.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and environmental specialists on integrated water management projects.
  • Support proposal development and client presentations.
  • Mentor junior team members and review their modelling work

Your skills and experience

  • Ideally be in the range of 3-6 years’ experience in project delivery and management.
  • M.Tech / M.E. in Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and flood modelling principles.
  • Proficiency in modelling software: TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS, MIKE, InfoWorks ICM.
  • Experience with GIS tools: ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo.
  • Familiarity with UK/ME hydrological standards (e.g., FEH) is a plus.
  • Experience with coastal/tidal modelling and stormwater drainage systems.
  • Knowledge of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and water-sensitive urban design.
  • Ability to manage projects and interact with clients.
  • Experience in QA/QC of modelling outputs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
