Key duties:
- Business partner to the UK COO, driving strategy and formulating tactical plans, as well as provide financial insight to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Manage commercial risk to ensure that risks are identified, evaluated and mitigated or escalated where appropriate.
- Consolidating all financial reporting across our UK region.
- Build Collaborative relationships with stakeholders including Project Principals, Group Directors, Partners to ensure financial alignment to the UK strategy, and attend relevant project board meetings providing financial and commercial decision support for senior executives and engineering team.
- Management of the finance function including the provision of monthly management and project information, quarterly financial reporting and the associated controls at business unit level.
- Control of local finance systems and processes, providing continual improvement of our systems and processes
- Consolidation of budgets and forecasts at business unit level, preparing and delivering board reports as well as compilation of any ad hoc reports and information requests, whilst implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy in reporting.
- Control of and management of regional office costs.
- Liaison with other Group and Regional finance teams.
- Provide pastoral care, ensuring the continual wellbeing of the UK finance team.
Your skills and experience:
- Qualified accountant, with relevant post qualification experience in a highly commercial environment and demonstrable experience operating at a similar level, providing proactive commercial control over a wide range of situations.
- Proven ability to effectively lead finance teams within multiple office environment.
- Highly organised with the proven ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines, be front and centre in challenging situations and demonstrate resilience with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to use VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables in Excel.
- Experience of the following would be an advantage:
- Long Term project accounting
- Working as part of an international, matrix managed business
- Consulting Engineering or Professional Services business.
