What will you be doing

Ensure financial compliance for all aspects of US statutory financial reporting, technical accounting, and the associated control environment. This includes the correct execution of accounting entries in the US Buro Happold’s jurisdictions, in accordance with local laws, GAAP and group wide accounting policies, and identifying the correct company set up. 

This role also includes US oversight of tax compliance and reporting, setting up processes and policies to ensure compliance. Leading and providing advice on all technical financial accounting matters in the US, statutory reporting & Tax compliance. 

Key responsibilities include:

Financial Control Environment 

 

  • Exercising, maintaining and updating controls around financial reporting including balance sheet reconciliations and analytical review
  • Provide accurate, timely technical accounting advice to stakeholders in the US & global teams
  • Lead on all US technical accounting matters and keep abreast of key technical developments in the external reporting landscape through ongoing learning and Continuing Professional Development 
  • Proactively manage the financial control environment, ensuring adoption and adherence to group policies, procedures, statutory regulations and best practice
  • Responsible for sharing knowledge with team members and act as conduit to other stakeholders in the business. 

Statutory Reporting and Audit

 

  • Lead and manage the statutory audit process, ensuring timely completion in accordance with local statutory and group reporting deadlines 
  • Accurate reporting and presentation to US exec Committee and statutory boards of directors

Other

 

  • Lead and manage key relationships with third party advisers i.e. external auditors, tax advisers and pension 

What will you bring to the role

  • 7+ years of relevant experience 
  • CPA with five years + PQE
  • Experience working within a global organization with overseas tax impacts
  • Experience of working under IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
  • Experience in US company structural set up
  • Strong financial reporting experience
  • Strong knowledge of US accounting & tax standards and principles
  • Self-motivated and highly organized with the proven ability to priorities and work to deadlines
  • Confident and proactive with the ability to take the lead in challenging situations
  • Resilient
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate attention to detail

  • Salary range of $100,000 to $150,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
