Finance Assistant
Buro Happold has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our team in Bath.
The newly established role is crucial for advancing our Future Finance Strategy, driving continuous growth, and supporting our comprehensive 6-year business plan.
Our dedicated business service team will offer vital support to the Global Finance team, which operates across five regions (UK, Europe, India, Middle East, and US) and includes over 90 finance professionals.
We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for making a positive impact while providing outstanding customer service to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
This role will be dynamic and varied, initially concentrating on centralising high-volume finance tasks, with opportunities to engage in broader finance transformation programmes.
This role is ideal for someone who is either new to finance or has some experience in a similar administrative or transactional position.

Key duties:
- To manage the monthly invoicing and receipting of inter-company invoices.
- Collaborate with the Regional Finance and Project teams to facilitate project closures.
- Supporting the UK Accounts Payable team to:
- Register incoming supplier invoices.
- Process employee expense claims and ensure adherence to the expense policy.
- Assisting with the completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting with posting recharges from the centre to regional legal entities
- To actively support and advocate for the continuous development of Shared Business Services initiatives.
Your skills and experience:
- Dynamic and Effective Communicator.
- Collaborative team player, adept at thriving in high-volume business environments.
- Eager to learn and enthusiastic about mastering new processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially email and Excel.
- Previous experience in an office setting, particularly in accounts payable or other transactional roles, is advantageous.
- GCSEs in Maths and English at grade B (5-6) or higher.
- Ideally pursuing or interested in undertaking AAT training.
