Director - Facade Engineering

We are seeking a visionary Facades practitioner to lead our Facade Engineering team in India, based in either Mumbai or Bangalore.

Your next role

Reporting to the Partner in charge, you will provide business, strategy and people leadership to our Façade Engineering team in India. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that technical quality and business performance standards are met, as well as managing the performance of the team.    

You will demonstrate a dynamic and determined commitment to work winning, design excellence, and technical performance. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the highest standards of technical quality within our Facades projects; continuously evolving the department through innovation and creativity. 

You will also take ownership for the discipline strategy in India, partnering with both domestic and international stakeholders to help drive expansion in headcount and market share in the India market. 

Key Duties

  • Lead the India Façade Engineering team, retaining and growing an innovative, diverse, happy, thriving, and talented team. 
  • Oversee the group strategy for growth, in alignment with the current global BH growth strategy (and subsequent company strategies). 
  • Collaborate with the leadership team in India on decision-making and business development.
  • Driving growth in revenue, profit, and headcount for the India Facades team. 
  • Overseeing the budget and P&L account for the team. 
  • Act as Line Manager, overseeing all pastoral and HR matters and lead recruitment strategy for the team. 
  • Driving active collaboration with our Global Facades teams, situated in the US, UK, Germany, and China (Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shenzhen), including on workshare, work winning and working groups. 
  • Actively engage in work-winning and networking. 
  • Act as Project Director in appropriate projects. 
  • Outreach to, attend, and represent BH as speaker/panellist etc in relevant conferences to enhance brand value.
     

Your skills & experience

  • Experienced technical and commercial leader in the Facades discipline; track record of exceptional delivery over a sustained period within the industry (typically 20+ years). 
  • Ideally you will have an existing industry network of collaborators and clients – e.g. architects, contractors, manufacturers, etc. 
  • Experience working on large, tall, and complex projects (ideally with some international project experience).
  • Experience working with international architects and collaborators. 
  • Strong sustainability focus would be a significant advantage.
  • Clear track-record in business development and client retention. 
  • Degree educated in a relevant discipline. 
  • Professionally registration with a relevant institution is preferred.
