Your next role
We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking BIM & Computational intern to join our dynamic MEP building design team. This role is ideal for students with a strong interest in digital design, automation, and collaborative project delivery. This is a learning-focused role where you will start with foundational BIM skills and gradually develop expertise in emerging technologies. Industry experts will mentor you while contributing to exciting projects including sustainable buildings, smart systems, and innovative MEP solutions.

Your key duties:
- Assist in creating and modifying 3D BIM models for MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure accurate and efficient modelling practices
- Support coordination and clash detection, identifying and resolving conflicts between MEP systems and other building elements
- Participate in design review meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions
- Assist in producing drawings, schedules, and reports derived from the BIM model
- Support maintaining and organizing BIM files, adhering to company standards and best practices
- Engage in learning opportunities to expand knowledge of BIM software, MEP design principles, and industry trends
- Develop automated solutions to augment and enhance our BIM processes
- Contribute to our open-source coding platform BHoM (bhom.xyz).
Your skills and experience
This role will require the following:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or above in Architecture or Engineering with a background in Building Information Modelling (BIM)
- Familiarity with BIM software, such as Autodesk Revit, is preferred
- Basic understanding of MEP systems and their integration in building design
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proactive learner with a desire to expand knowledge and skills in BIM and MEP design
- Ability to work well both as part of a team and independently
- Interest and/or experience in visual programming (Dynamo, Grasshopper), coding (Python, C#)

- Hourly rate of $22 to $32 per hour depending on level of education and geographic location
