Responsibilities and Accountability

Naturally, the role will be varied, but typical responsibilities can be expected to comprise...

  • Providing strategic low-energy design advice
  • Liaising with key client stakeholders to develop their sustainability strategies
  • Identifying sustainability risks and appropriate mitigation measures and highlighting any opportunities to increase the organisation’s sustainability credentials
  • Conducting Green building Pre-Assessment and provide design advice
  • Creating models to illustrate your plans, processes and designs
  • Producing evidence requirements for green building credits
  • Undertaking a gap analysis report should the desired rating not be achievable
  • Monitoring the design process to ensure that the scheme design objectives are being followed and the design meets the clients’ requirements
  • Preparing low and zero-carbon technology feasibility studies and energy statements for local authority approval as part of planning applications
  • Support and organise training, internal and external, for all technical staff to ensure the office continues to learn and develop new and existing technologies to best serve our evolving product delivery
  • Responsible for developing skill set for IES, Micro Climate Analysisand Day Light Study
    • Ensuring quality and consistency of scripts/tools and maintain accountability for BIM team delivery and outputs
    • Be a go to person for the team for new tools and practices in Digital and Computational Engineering
    • Identify feasible sustainable design concepts on behalf of your company or for clients
    • Keep up to date with the latest green building assessments
    • Use mapping technology such as GIS to assist with the creation of models
    • Collect and collate qualitative and quantitative data to help communicate and support your sustainable engineering designs

Qualification & Requirement

  • To be considered for this role, we would expect you to demonstrate the following...
  • 2-6 years of professional work experience in IES, Micro Climate Analysis and Day Light Study.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IES, Micro Climate Analysis and Day Light Study
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Revit API, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Python, VB
  • Experience assisting engineering teams with Energy Analysis modelling
  • Ability to develop efficient cross-application / cross-team workflows
  • Basic skills in AutoCAD
  • Good understanding of low carbon building solutions.
  • Ideally, some hands-on experience using Revit on Building Services projects
  • Good understanding of the successful application of Computational methods for design and project delivery in Building Services industry
  • Master’s degree in Sustainability
