Your key duties

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant to join our Advisory Team, specialising in asset management. As a Senior Consultant, you will play a critical role in providing strategic advice to our clients, principally in the areas of asset and facilities management. 

Your extensive experience in advisory work coupled with excellent analytical skills, and the ability to provide strategic advice to our clients, will enable you to deliver forward looking solutions that optimise project outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. 

Strategic Planning and Business Development

  • Develop and implement comprehensive asset management strategies to optimise asset performance and value.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Support business development activities by contributing to innovative proposals and service propositions.
  • Continuously develop asset optimisation services and go-to-market offers through tools, templates, and techniques.

Client Consultation, Data Analysis, and Reporting

  • Lead consultations and presentations with clients, from initial pitch to project delivery.
  • Manage, coordinate, and deliver discrete workstreams or complete engagements, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice on asset management best practices and industry standards.
  • Analyse and interpret data to identify trends and issues.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations, clearly communicating findings, recommendations, and strategies to clients and stakeholders.
  • Design and facilitate effective client workshops to build consensus and identify opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality outputs tailored to the client’s business.

Project and Regulatory Management

  • Oversee the implementation of asset management solutions, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with team members and departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure all asset management practices comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and advise clients on necessary adjustments.

Risk and Stakeholder Management

  • Identify and assess risks associated with asset portfolios.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and industry partners.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and ensure effective communication of project progress and outcomes.
  • Develop internal stakeholder relationships within advisory and the wider engineering business.

Innovation, Technology, and Sustainability

  • Advise clients on the adoption of new technologies and innovative practices in asset management.
  • Evaluate and recommend asset management software and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Integrate sustainability and ESG considerations into asset management strategies.
  • Advise clients on best practices for sustainable asset management and reporting.

Training and Development

  • Provide training and support to junior consultants and client staff on asset management tools and techniques.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their professional development.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or a broader business and finance discipline. A postgraduate degree is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and delivering results.

Skills:

  • A passion in the areas of asset and facilities management, and in championing how the optimisation of assets contributes to the delivery of organisational performance.
  • Specific experience, content knowledge and practice across core practice areas of Target Operating Models, Sourcing Strategies, Design Reviews, Operational Readiness Planning, Service Performance Reviews, Procurement, Investment Planning and Cost Modelling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex challenges, derive actionable insights and formulate innovative solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely, coupled with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Industry Knowledge and Global Perspective:

  • Deep understanding of the specific industry sectors relevant to the client’s assets (e.g., real estate, infrastructure, energy).
  • Proven track record in leading and delivering strategic projects, conducting analysis, and implementing operational changes.
  • Experience working with international clients and understanding of global asset management trends and practices.
  • Passion for sustainability, innovation, and driving positive change in the built environment sector.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage client engagements and the aptitude to guide and mentor junior team members effectively.

Client-Focused Approach:

  • Strong client management skills with a focus on delivering tailored solutions that meet client needs and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful client relationships, evidencing business development experience in the context of identifying and winning opportunities with existing as well as new clients.
