Your key duties

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Senior Building Performance Engineer to join our Middle East Buildings Environment team. The role involves leading the delivery of a wide variety of projects within a multidisciplinary design team for several key clients, covering building sustainability and energy performance aspects from project feasibility to detailed design and construction support and post-occupancy building performance studies. 

  •  Lead building performance analysis across all project stages, including dynamic thermal modelling, daylight studies, energy and carbon modelling, and ASHRAE 90.1 compliance.
  • Shape sustainable design strategies covering passive design, low‑energy HVAC, façade performance, ventilation, thermal comfort, climate resilience, and embodied carbon.
  • Review building services designs for alignment with energy strategies, metering requirements, and net‑zero carbon goals.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, manage team resources, and deliver high‑quality reports, analysis, and client presentations.
  • Conduct energy audits, operational and calibrated energy modelling, post‑occupancy evaluations, and decarbonisation pathway analysis.
  • Support sustainability certification processes (LEED, WELL, BREEAM, Mostadam, Estidama, Passivhaus, etc.).
  • Build strong client relationships, support work‑winning activities, and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building performance, energy modelling, or sustainable design

Your skills and experience

  • Strong expertise in building simulation, thermal comfort analysis, and optimising building energy performance.
  • Extensive experience with ASHRAE 90.1 modelling.
  • Solid understanding of passive design principles and low‑energy HVAC strategies.
  • Proficiency in sustainability frameworks such as LEED, WELL, Mostadam, and Estidama.
  • Experience in energy audits, analysing system performance, and interpreting energy data.
  • Professional membership (CIBSE, ASHRAE, IMechE or similar) preferred; ASHRAE BEMP certification is an advantage.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills; strong presenter.
  • Collaborative, innovative, and able to mentor junior team members while working in a deadline‑driven environment.
