Want to work with the most sought-after minds and most talked about projects? Your skills and experience in building energy performance might just make you our new senior Building Performance Engineer.
Here at Buro Happold, expect the exceptional.
For over 30 years Buro Happold has been at the forefront of appraising building performance and identifying energy saving opportunities for clients. An example of our work for the Science Museum Group to develop their Heat Decarbonisation Plan for their whole estate has been published on the SALIX website as an exemplar plan. Using our expertise in Net Zero Carbon and the design of Life Sciences facilities, we helped the Francis Crick Institute - The Crick to define their preferred net zero pathway for scope 1 and 2 emissions based on balancing factors such as technical feasibility, level of disruption, and whole life cost impacts. This was all underpinned by data that the Crick’s Estate team had already been monitoring as well as an array of carbon reduction projects that had previously been implemented.
Buro Happold are ahead of the competition when it comes to NABERS UK and advance operational energy modelling. We currently have two projects underway classed as ‘Pioneer projects’ for Design for Performance these are 4 Angel Square and Statesman House. We are also undertaking advance modelling for an 800,000 sqft speculative lab in Canary Wharf, the Earnshaw building and Worship Street. Our Post occupancy evaluation and soft-landing team are involved with University College of London delivering POE for various buildings and decarbonisation plans.
We are also active members of UK Green Building Council and World Green Building Council including advisory groups on Delivering Social Value, Circular Economy and Advancing Net Zero Renewables and Offsetting. Many staff globally are members of boards, organisations, and/or visiting lecturers at universities.
