Your next role

Buro Happold is seeking a proactive Security Consultant to join our Security Advisory team. You will support the development of physical security strategies, conduct assessments, and help ensure that major developments and public spaces meet international best‑practice security standards.This role is ideal for individuals with experience or strong interest in physical security, protective measures, risk assessment, security operations, or critical asset protection.

 

Your key duties

  • Support the development of physical security strategies, including threat and risk assessments (TRAs), vulnerability assessments, and security needs analyses
  • Assist in the specification of protective measures such as access control, hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM), perimeter systems, surveillance requirements, and security operational concepts.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and masterplanners to ensure that security requirements are appropriately integrated into project proposals.
  • Conduct site surveys to review existing conditions and identify security vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports, security recommendations, and technical documents using Microsoft Office.
  • Produce well‑structured presentations for client and stakeholder meetings in both Arabic and English.
  • Support workshops and consultation sessions, contributing to discussions on operational security, risk mitigation, and security design considerations
  • Collaborate effectively within a small, fast‑paced team environment.

 

Required qualifications & skills

  • Consultant‑level experience in Security Consulting, Security Management, Risk Analysis, Engineering, Safety Management, or related fields.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong understanding of physical security principles, such as access control, surveillance, CPTED, and perimeter protection.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly with PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate risk and propose proportionate mitigation strategies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proactive, self‑driven, dependable, and comfortable operating in a small, agile office environment..

 

Desirable Attributes

  • Familiarity with physical security standards (ISO 31000, ASIS, SABRE, CPTED concepts, etc.).
  • Experience in or awareness of operational security, security management plans, or security technology.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings from a security perspective.
  • Interest in enhancing the safety and resilience of public spaces and major developments.
