Buro Happold is currently recruiting a Research Analyst - Business Research for our newly established Research and Insights Centre (RIC), positioned as a Centre of Excellence for business research. RIC will play a pivotal role in supporting our global engineering and advisory community with research, analysis, and insights aimed at driving sales, business development, and marketing initiatives.
Your key duties
- Carry out business research individually (with minimal supervision) or as part of a team (in discussion with the assignment Single Point of Contact), to conduct accurate and exhaustive data gathering in sync with the scope of the research brief. Search for relevant information and analyze its relevance, structure and format the research report, draw clear and concise conclusions, and secure client satisfaction through high quality insights. Work on assignments across Buro Happold sectors and services, and multi-task when required.
- Effectively use templates, follow the stipulated delivery workflow, adhere to information security policies, assume responsibilities for data quality, accuracy, timeliness and completeness, ensure that reports authored by self are copyright compliant, store and publish documents in the unit’s repository, and identify and contribute towards process improvement initiatives.
- Use Word, PowerPoint and Excel to write up business research reports, apply search and data mining techniques to pull up relevant information from the net and business and professional databases, and answer critical questions in the research brief with skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis, and research methodologies (both primary and secondary).
- Write crisp and concise business emails and notes, build business research reports with illustrative charts, diagrams, and infographics, which are supported by highly structured text-based analysis and commentary. Strong written and verbal English language skills mandatory.
- Contribute to the unit’s knowledge base by undertaking best practice sessions on learning’s from assignments.
Assignment Deliverables
This includes, but is not limited to: market, industry, sector, competitor, account, trend, risk, location, PESTLE, and SWOT analyses, and benchmarking and vendor evaluation.
Your skills and experience
- Play a crucial role in gathering and analyzing data to provide valuable insights that inform business decisions and contribute to market intelligence and building business strategy. This requires a blend of analytical and effective communication skills.
- Business research skills built over the course of past work experience in the assignment deliverable types mentioned above, complemented by skills in extracting relevant data, and in analysing and processing this information to arrive at sharp business insights.
- Expertise in crafting reports and presentations, utilizing a variety of graphs, tables, and diagrams. Complement these visuals with concise text and impactful headlines, while communicating intricate business insights with clarity and structure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a positive and proactive attitude to drive productive engagement with clients and team members. Strong interpersonal skills to foster rapport with colleagues from diverse cultures and professional backgrounds.
- 4 to 8+ years of business research experience in an off-shored captive unit of a management/strategy/research consultancy, a third-party research vendor, or a market research firm.
- A full-time MBA/PG DBM/equivalent from a reputable institute is preferred.
