Your key duties

The Regional IT Manager will oversee the IT operations across Buro Happold's offices in the Middle East, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with the company's strategic objectives. This role involves managing IT officers, implementing technology solutions, and maintaining high standards of security and efficiency.

 

This is an exciting role for an experienced IT manager that is seeking a role with a multinational organisation and lead an IT department for the Middle East Region. This role is not only to manage the existing user base in our Riyadh and Dubai offices but can also from time to time be responsible for establishing Site locations, client site set up and or opening new offices in the region. The role forms part of the Global IT team and the individual may also be involved in leading Global initiatives. 

This role also requires someone who enjoys hands on IT services delivery to our users and acts a point of contact for our community. 

 

Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and manage IT initiatives and team for the Middle East.
  • Provide guidance and support to local IT staff on operations and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Mentor and train IT staff to enhance their skills and productivity.

 

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute regional IT strategies and plans that are in line with Global initiatives
  • Evaluate and recommend IT infrastructure enhancements to improve efficiency and maintain and or create cost efficiencies.
  • Manage the IT budgets for regional offices, ensuring cost-effectiveness.

 

Project Management:

  • Coordinate and oversee local technology projects and system implementations.
  • Establish project scopes, goals, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects and adherence to quality standards.

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimise and plan IT spending to support business activity.

 

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain Global policies and procedures to ensure IT operations comply with both local and Global regulatory and security requirements.
  • Monitor service levels and performance metrics to identify and address issues and opportunities for improvement.

 

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on the operations and maintenance of devices, networks, and systems.
  • Expected to stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organisation remains competitive and compliant.

 

Hands-On IT Services Delivery:

  • Enjoy hands-on IT service delivery to our users and act as a point of contact for our community.
  • Ensure high-quality IT support and services are provided to all users.

 

Your skills and experience

  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Master Planning.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role with at least 5 years in the Middle East.
  • Project management qualification (e.g., PMP) or significant project delivery experience.
  • Professional accreditation from a recognised organisation.
  • Strong technical background in multidisciplinary building and infrastructure design.
  • Proven experience in strategic project delivery and team leadership, including managing remote teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior clients and collaborators.
  • Understanding of Middle East policies and regulations.
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary LDC projects, overseeing financial and technical performance, and creating and managing programmes.
  • Experience in developing long term relationships with clients and collaborators, and leading fee estimates, proposals, and negotiating terms and conditions.
  • Familiarity with Project Management information systems (e.g., Aconex).
