Principal/Associate Electrical Engineer

Your next role
This role will see you technically and creatively challenged on some of the most interesting developments in India and further afield. Teamwork and a collaborative approach are key to any project at BuroHappold, so your strong communication skills and passion to succeed with others will serve you well.
- Undertake detailed electrical engineering building services design and calculations, using Revit and Amtech software to support your knowledge of exemplar building design and performance, as well as an appreciation of a designs embodied carbon.
- Embrace technologies to improve performance and sustainability to meet to net zero targets by 2030.
- Ensure projects are carried out to an excellent standard, within agreed deadlines and budget.
- Represent Buro Happold at meetings with clients, other professionals, and suppliers.
- Produce and review reports, presentations, models, and drawings to an excellent standard, high level of accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Prepare technical specifications and schedules, design development reports and innovative design solutions.
- Plan and manage input to Revit for production of design work.
- Actively engage with colleagues across disciplines, in group discussions and at events and seminars.
- Mentor more junior team members, potentially leading to an early line management role.
- Autonomously represents Buro Happold to clients, architects and collaborators.
What design work will I be doing?
- Hands on design deliverables in electrical design typically in the Residential, Commercial and Hospitality sectors and leading a team of Engineers to deliver outcomes.
- Preparing and reviewing detailed calculations to validate design intent.
- Preparing and reviewing technical specifications and schedules and authoring design reports.
- Keeping our Leadership Team informed of important and relevant service/design decisions taken on your Projects with a view to how they align with the Project Scope and Objectives.
Outside of design, what else will I do?
- Manage project finances, monitor scope, and ensure quality.
- Plan and organise your workload to ensure that you are meeting clients expectations.
- Attending client, site and external design team meetings.

Your skills and experience
- A broad design knowledge – from Concept to Tender Designing - through working on a wide range of projects using Indian and International codes.
- Experience as a Lead Electrical Engineer on projects.
- Domain expertise in codes and standards in your field.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A willingness to lead adoption of new analysis packages as required on your projects.
- A Bachelor’s degree BEng or Master’s degree MEng in a relevant discipline.
