Your key duties
The IT Support Officer provides technical support and maintenance for IT systems, with a specialized focus on engineering and design software used in architectural workflows. This role ensures seamless operation of tools critical to architects, engineers, and designers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and network issues across the office.
Support specialized engineering and design applications such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Troubleshoot performance issues related to CAD workstations, rendering software, and graphic-intensive applications.
Assist in the installation, configuration, and licensing of design and modeling software.
Collaborate with engineering teams to understand software requirements and optimize system performance.
Maintain and update IT documentation, including software guides and troubleshooting manuals.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory and project collaboration platforms.
Monitor and maintain IT assets, including high-performance workstations and peripherals like plotters and 3D printers.
Escalate unresolved technical issues to vendors or higher-level support when necessary.
Ensure compliance with IT policies, data security standards, and software licensing agreements.
Provide training and onboarding support for new users on engineering tools and IT systems.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Windows OS and enterprise IT environments.
Experience supporting AutoCAD, Revit, and other architecture/engineering software is a plus.
Familiarity with graphics cards, rendering engines, and performance optimization.
Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and remote support tools.
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Autodesk Certified Professional, or ITIL are a plus.
