IT Software Patching Analyst

The Software Patching Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and stability of our IT environment by managing the timely and effective deployment of software patches. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of patch management processes, scripting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.fl2ZAiXeu43UcTVgPGa42bkV07ZeblAoBQ7nwY4F.jpg
Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with security teams to stay informed about emerging threats and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to assess the business impact of vulnerabilities and prioritize remediation efforts.
  • Collaborate with system owners and administrators to schedule and prioritize remediation activities.
  • Participate in incident response activities related to vulnerabilities, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Collaborate with incident response teams to address and mitigate vulnerabilities discovered during security incidents.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of vulnerability remediation plans, and activities.
  • Ensure that vulnerability remediation activities align with security policies, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams to address and rectify any compliance issues related to vulnerabilities.
  • Work closely with IT teams, system owners, and application developers to facilitate the remediation process.
  • Creation of scripts to automate or simplify the remediation of vulnerabilities. 


Skills and Experience

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) and Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).
  • Experience in coordinating and validating patch management activities.
  • Experience creating scripts in PowerShell.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages for automation (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Continuous learning and adaptation to stay current with evolving cybersecurity threats.
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Accreditations:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CVE, CVSS, CEH) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in vulnerability management or a related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools, methodologies, and risk management principles.
