IT PMO Project Coordinator

Buro Happold is currently going through a period of strategic growth. This growth has resulted in an increased demand within the IT and Business Services Team, as we support BAU and drive forward with improvement initiatives.

As the Project Coordinator is responsible to the Project Management Office (PMO) manager in assisting in the day to day running of the PMO. Including administration and reporting on the PMO portfolio and governance for the IT department. The Project coordinator must ensure the IT department is delivery focused by providing support and guidance on process, governance and reporting as required, taking a pragmatic but persistent approach to ensure all updates and actions are completed regularly and on time.

As a Project Coordinator you will take ownership and full responsibility for a number of IT led projects or the IT deliverables for business led projects where the IT deliverables are not complex. You will also assist on other projects by taking notes and actions during meetings, monitoring and updating the project Risk, CAID and UAT Logs and drafting the weekly status reports.

Required Skills

•         Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role

•         Experience assisting in project delivery, from conception through to close out.

•         Ability to prepare, update and interpret flowcharts and project plans

•         Good organisational skills and time-management with the ability to prioritise

•         Good documentation skills with a high level of attention to detail

•         Tenacious when following up on actions, updates and deliverables

•         A pragmatic but persistent approach to enforcing process and governance 

•         Good (internal) client-facing and teamwork skills


Desirable skills

•         Hands-on experience with project management tools desirable

•         Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control


Qualifications and Accreditations:

•         A Project management qualification PMP / PRINCE2 / PMI or Agile certification is a plus but is not required.
