We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our collaborative Human Resources team. This position is hybrid and will be based in New York.

Your next role


Some of the day-to-day duties you could take on as HR Coordinator at Buro Happold include:

HR Business Partner Team:

  • Perform HR administrative tasks to support the US HR team
  • Assist with ongoing HR projects and initiatives
  • Maintain filing for I-9’s and online personnel records for all US employees
  • Work closely with the appropriate line managers and Business Services teams to ensure a smooth orientation for new hires
  • Manage onboarding communications and process new hire paperwork
  • Draft Employee change letters and employment verifications
  • Complete HR-related purchase orders
  • Support management of cross-team SharePoint lists 
  • Create HR presentations and communications
  • Manage business-facing US HR SharePoint site
  • Manage internal US HR team SharePoint site
  • Support with tracking and auditing mandatory harassment prevention training 

Talent Acquisition:

  • Perform recruitment-related administrative tasks to support the team
  • Update job description to align with our global EVP template
  • Support our Campus Recruiter with posting open roles to multiple university job portals
  • Review resumes and conduct phone screens for entry level roles
  • Schedule candidate interviews 
  • Update Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Perform background checks using a third party provider
  • Ad hoc projects as needed 

Learning & Development:

  • Support Learning and Development initiatives within the US
  • Manage and review required training reporting to track and take action on incompletes
    1. Assist with communications and scheduling for learning program
    2. Track and report attendance
    3. Administer post-program evaluations 
    4. Organize Buro Happold University speakers and manage AIA certified topics 
  • Manage and review required training reporting to track and take action on incompletes

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • An interest in Human Resources
  • Strong organization skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and impeccable time management skills, with a passion for efficiency and quality
  • Professional attitude within a busy environment
  • A proactive and consultative approach
  • Familiarity with working in a role wearing many hats and juggling a large number of responsibilities
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Technical efficiency using SharePoint, AI (Chat GPT, Copilot) and Power Automate a plus
  • Experience working with an HRIS database and ATS beneficial
  • Basic understanding/experience of employment law (Labor, federal, state) beneficial 


What we offer you

  • Salary range of $66,000 - $72,000 plus paid overtime. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
