Geotechnical Engineer

As a Geotechnical Engineer, this role will see you working amongst a diverse and talented Ground Engineering team to design innovative and efficient ground engineering solutions for projects across a variety of sectors and scales - including sports stadia, masterplans, bridges, foundation reuse projects, and more.

Your next role:


  • Providing high-quality geotechnical support to our clients in the development of bespoke, sustainable, structural engineering and infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas.
  • Scoping, specification, management and supervision of geotechnical site investigations.
  • Site characterisation including ground modelling and geotechnical parameter interpretation.
  • Soil structure interaction and geotechnical substructure design including shallow and piled foundations, retaining structures, deep basements, ground improvement and slope stability assessment.
  • Liaise with other disciplines to support development of substructure solutions
  • Undertake numerical modelling including foundation, retaining wall and slope analysis.
  • Data review and analysis including interpretation and input into technical design reports and specifications in accordance with relevant standards and codes of practice. 

 

Your skills and experience:


  • 3-4 years post graduate experience within a consulting design practice
  • Proven experience in specifying and reviewing ground investigations, geotechnical interpretation and soil structure interaction design methodologies.
  • Have proven experience of advanced numerical modelling and knowledge of alternative constitutive models in respect to deep foundations, retaining structures and slope stability.
  • Have enthusiasm and geotechnical expertise to develop and communicate concepts.
  • Approaching Chartered Engineer status.
  • Lead and develop design capabilities.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with clients and other consultants effectively.
  • You will be used to taking the initiative and responsibility for your assignments and you have an ability to achieve excellent results through teamwork. 
  • You will hold a master's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or equivalent and will have a strong desire and drive to deliver quality projects and achieve excellent results.
