Your key duties
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Controller to join our Finance team in Riyadh. This role is critical in supporting the Head of Finance – KSA in delivering accurate financial insights, project accounting, and cost control for a portfolio of high-profile engineering and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, project accounting, and cost control, preferably within international companies or major projects in the Kingdom.
Responsibilities
- Support the month-end close process, including preparation and analysis of monthly management and project accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for assigned disciplines, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Participate in project portfolio reviews with project teams, covering revenue recognition, profit analysis, WIP, debt, contingencies, change management, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Operations Team to ensure financial alignment and transparency.
- Develop and deliver monthly and ad-hoc financial reports with insightful analysis to support commercial decision-making.
- Maintain project financial hygiene, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Liaise with Group and Regional Finance teams to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Prepare quarterly WIP reports for the assigned project portfolio.
- Respond to ad-hoc reporting, presentation, and information requests from management.
- Ensure compliance with local finance systems, policies, and procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support various finance-related projects and initiatives as required.
Your skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project accounting, cost control, and financial analysis.
- Experience in engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors is highly preferred.
- Exposure to international companies or large-scale projects in KSA is a strong advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, Power BI).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English
