Finance Assistant

Buro Happold has a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our dynamic team in Bath. The successful candidate will support the UK Cities business unit by managing invoicing, preparing month-end accruals and prepayments, and collaborating with the Project Operations team. This role requires a high level of accuracy, good communication skills, and the ability to work to deadlines.

Key duties

  • Produce invoicing for projects delivered by the UK Cities business unit (50% of the role).
  • Perform project-related housekeeping tasks within the project planning and finance systems.
  • Prepare month-end accruals and prepayments.
  • Own Cost Reports for Disciplines.
  • Report on overheads spend versus budget and forecast.
  • Issue Work In Progress (WIP) balances to Project Directors.
  • Collaborate with the Project Operations team to complete tasks.
  • Support other regional teams when required.
  • Adhere to the company's financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks to support the Bath Office and wider function.

Your skills and experience:

  • High level of accuracy.
  • Good communication and team working skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize workload.
  • Good computer and IT skills; use of PivotTables and formulas in Excel is an advantage.
  • Ability to understand the nature of the work the team carries out and interact with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Prior use of financial accounting systems such as Agresso is an advantage.
  • Ideally studied AAT Level 2 or above.
  • Good secondary and/or tertiary education: A levels or equivalent.
