We are looking for a talented Facade Engineer to join our vibrant and friendly facade engineering team in Hong Kong.
This role will see you working as part of a talented specialist team focussing on a portfolio of innovative, pinnacle projects in Hong Kong and further afield.
You'll be working alongside industry-renowned experts in the field, and drawing upon the skills and knowledge of other related disciplines such as structures, MEP, and sustainability.

Key Duties
Naturally, the role of a Facade Engineer will be varied, but typical responsibilities can be expected to comprise...
- Assist in developing jobs technically from initial Client ideas.
- Assist in the running of facades jobs, with the Project Discipline Engineer.
- Perform technical reviews of shop drawings and construction administration submittals;
- Prepare Building Department facade submission.
- Deliver work in a timely and technically competent manner.
- Maintain good client relations throughout the job.
- Ensure Senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions.
- Responsible for planning, organising and managing personal workload in order to meet deadlines in line with client commitments.
- Proactively raising concerns regarding workload and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to use computational tools and related to Rhino, Revit and Grasshopper are advantage.
Skills & Experience
As an experienced Facade Engineer, it is expected that you can demonstrate...
- Experience with the Buildings Department in delivering and amending submissions for new build and A&A works, and attending interviews (note: RSE qualification not required)
- At a minimum, the right candidate will possess a keen desire to learn computational workflow. As a plus, the candidate will already have understanding of and prior experience using computational workflows (with tools such as Revit, Grasshopper and Rhino) to carry out façade detailing, structural analysis, etc.
- Good working knowledge of BS EN/ASTM/GB codes and HK COP etc.
- Experience in delivering structural calculations with various materials, including glass, aluminium, structural steel, stone and precast concrete;
- Awareness of basic weather performance issues.
- Awareness of basic building physics including ventilation, solar gain control, thermal insulation and glare control.
- Knowledge of typical facade systems (unitised, stick, window wall, glass wall)
- Experience of the practical aspects of handling and fabricating typical cladding materials.
- Design experience on projects in Asia Pacific (i.e. Hong Kong, China, Macau, et al.)
- Experience using a variety of computer packages for design. For example, Autodesk Robot, Strand, SAP2000, BISCO.
- Degree in related disciplines such as Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, combination degrees of the former
- Fluent in English and Cantonese
