Your next role :To manage the Construction Admin role as per design requisition, Report to individual project leaders / job leaders. Responsible for helping the actual execution at site based on design drawings / specifications 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Independently resolve site coordination and electrical design queries, while escalating and coordinating complex issues with the Electrical Design Engineer.
  • Liaise with Buro Happold's Electrical, Mechanical, Public Health and Structural design teams to resolve site-related electrical engineering issues.
  • Report project progress, site observations, technical concerns, and risks to BH Project Leaders and Job Leaders.
  • Advise the Buro Happold Electrical Design Engineers of any technical aspects of electrical services installations that may affect construction progress, quality, safety, or project delivery.
  • Respond to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) related to electrical systems in coordination with the design team.
  • Continuously review the contractor's electrical installations for compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality requirements, and industry standards.
  • Review contractor electrical installation methodology statements and construction procedures.
  • Review contractor shop drawings for electrical systems against tender and detailed design drawings to ensure compliance with the approved design intent.
  • Review coordinated MEP shop drawings alongside Buro Happold's Structural and MEP teams to ensure proper integration and clash-free installations.
  • Review contractor material submittals and technical proposals for electrical equipment, systems, and components against project specifications and performance requirements.
  • Undertake regular site inspections and observations of electrical services installations to verify compliance with approved shop drawings, consultant specifications, construction schedules, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.
  • Conduct or attend factory acceptance tests (FATs), vendor inspections, and off-site reviews of electrical equipment and materials when required.
  • Review contractor testing and commissioning procedures, methodologies, schedules, and documentation for electrical systems.
  • Witness, on a spot-check basis, the testing and commissioning of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, earthing, lightning protection, and ELV systems.
  • Review, evaluate, and provide comments on testing and commissioning results submitted by contractors.
  • Maintain and update snagging and defect lists related to electrical systems and monitor contractor corrective actions through completion.
  • Attend project meetings, site progress reviews, coordination workshops, and electrical technical meetings as required by the BH Site Lead.
  • Prepare draft site instructions, engineering directives, and technical correspondence related to electrical building services installations.
  • Assess and provide technical input on electrical variation claims, change orders, and associated costs submitted by contractors during project execution.
  • Review and provide comments on operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, as-built documentation, and project handover deliverables for electrical systems.
  • Prepare and submit periodic site inspection reports, progress reports, and construction administration reports in accordance with project contractual requirements.
  • Monitor electrical system installation progress and highlight potential risks, delays, quality concerns, or design issues to project stakeholders.
  • Support project close-out activities, final inspections, snag rectification, and successful handover of electrical systems to the client.

Your skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Typically 4 to 8+ years of site-based experience working with a contractor, consultant, or engineering consultancy, preferably with exposure to electrical design, installation, coordination, and project planning activities.
  • Proven experience in reviewing electrical shop drawings, design submittals, material submissions, and technical documents, ensuring compliance with project specifications, design intent, applicable standards, and client requirements.
  • Experience in conducting and reviewing mock-up installations and inspections for electrical systems to verify workmanship, quality standards, and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience in witnessing testing and commissioning activities for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, earthing, lightning protection, UPS, and ELV systems.
  • Experience in preparing and managing snag lists (punch lists) and monitoring defect rectification activities through to final project handover.
  • Ability to coordinate and participate in weekly site progress meetings with Clients, PMC, Contractors, Vendors, and Design Consultants.
  • Experience in reviewing, tracking, and closing comments raised through E1/E2 logs, NCRs, technical submittals, RFIs, and site observation reports prepared by contractors.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant electrical codes, regulations, safety standards, and construction practices applicable to building services projects.
  • Strong coordination, communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
