Buro Happold is seeking a visionary leader to shape and grow our Climate Action and Resilience Advisory Service across the US. This role is central to our Advisory go-to-market strategy and will contribute to both our national and global climate and resiliency efforts. You’ll work alongside a dynamic team to deliver transformative solutions for public, higher education, and private sector clients, driving innovation and impact.

Your next role

As Climate Action & Resilience Service Leader as part of the US Advisory team, you will:

  • Lead the strategic direction and growth of the Climate Action & Resilience Advisory service in the US.
  • Drive successful business development and client engagement.
  • Align US efforts with global climate and resiliency strategy.
  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise.
  • Collaborate with other team leaders to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, presence, proactivity, teamwork, and excellence.


Your skills and experience

This role will require the following:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in climate mitigation, climate adaptation, and resilience.
  • Experience in go-to-market strategy development and growth enablement planning.
  • Deep knowledge of public sector and familiarity with higher education and private sector needs relevant to the role.
  • Proven success managing teams and complex projects.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Client-focused mindset and relationship-building expertise.
  • Passion for climate, resilience, and sustainability across sectors.
  • Ability to drive innovation and lead organizational change.

Preferred skills & experience include:

  • Knowledge of social dimensions of sustainability, environmental justice, energy transition, net zero, and/or renewable energy.
  • Experience with sustainability frameworks and reporting standards.
  • Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or related field.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a professional, fast-paced environment 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.


What we offer

  • Salary range of $175,000 to $250,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.
