We are looking for a Business Development Lead, to support the strategic growth of Buro Happold’s International Market. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping our go‑to‑market approach, strengthening our client relationships, and enabling informed strategic decision‑making across the business.
Working closely with the International Market Leader, you will help identify and pursue priority opportunities, coordinate market and sector GTM plans, and ensure our value propositions and bid responses reflect the innovation, technical excellence, and impact Buro Happold is known for.

Your next role:
As a Business Development Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in advising on strategic priorities, coordinating growth initiatives, and enhancing our market presence. You’ll be the engine behind our client engagement, bid strategies, and CRM intelligence - helping us make informed, impactful decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will work closely with the International Market Leader, Global and Regional Business Development and Marketing teams, UK Market Leader, Sub-market leaders, and Sector leads to support coordinated international growth.
- Advising on strategic priorities, growth initiatives, and GTM activities across the International Market.
- Supporting pre‑positioning activity, client development, and pursuit planning.
- Coordinating and producing project bid materials, submissions, value propositions, and external communications.
- Leading the planning and delivery of BD events aligned to market objectives.
- Taking ownership of CRM systems, ensuring client data, pipeline information, and analytics are accurate and impactful.
- Presenting key BD insights and data to inform strategic decision‑making.
- Managing the client feedback process to support continuous improvement.
- Integrating market activity with global and regional BD, marketing, sector, and sub‑market teams.
- Helping capture lessons learned and supporting better outcomes in future pursuits.

About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Strong business development, pursuit coordination, or strategy experience (AEC or related professional services preferred).
- A deep understanding of client development and the external market landscape.
- Experience contributing to or leading bid submissions, value propositions, or GTM strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical content into compelling narratives.
- Confidence managing and interpreting CRM systems and data.
- A collaborative, proactive, and curious mindset - someone who thrives in a global, multidisciplinary environment.
