Buro Happold is looking for a talented and motivated Technician, at the early stage of their career, to join our Bridges team in London. You will be responsible for modelling, drafting, and producing technical drawings of a variety of bridge projects, working closely with our Infrastructure team.

Your next role
We are looking for a passionate and proactive technician, at the early stage of their career, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to learn and apply that to their job. You will bring curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to develop new skills and software expertise. Confidence in engaging with engineers and coordinating design details is key, as is a genuine interest in bridge design and knowledge-sharing.

Your skills and experience:
- Understanding of general arrangement and outline drawings for bridge structures.
- Ability to independently interpret models and drawings produced by others, including architects, engineers, and clients.
- Knowledge of civil structures (bridges, culverts, retaining walls, tunnels) within both 2D and 3D environments.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- IT hardware and software capabilities, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Competent in AutoCAD, with a working knowledge of Revit.
- Knowledge of BIM processes and standards such as ISO 19650.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality. · Willingness to actively contribute to workshops.
- Experience working across multiple disciplines (not essential)
- Familiarity with Tekla Structures software (not essential)
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete detailing (not essential)
- Understanding of BIM principles and prior involvement in BIM-based projects.
