Associate Waste & Logistics Consultant

We are looking for an Associate to join our Waste team to help deliver innovative, practical solutions that support circular economy principles and resource‑efficient design in the built environment.

Based in our Manchester office with hybrid working, you will join a diverse and collaborative group of waste, resource management and environmental specialists who work with clients worldwide to create resilient, efficient waste strategies for buildings and cities.

Overview of the role

  • Review and develop waste and materials strategies, waste generation calculations, route planning and storage solutions.
  • Analyse complex waste and resource challenges and develop clear, tailored solutions for clients.
  • Provide specialist consultancy advice to clients, architects and design teams.
  • Lead selected projects, ensuring quality, timelines and budgets are met.
  • Support and mentor junior team members.
  • Contribute to cross‑disciplinary collaboration and development of new service offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Guide consultants in the development of waste strategies for buildings and urban projects.
  • Produce and review reports, models and drawings to a high technical standard.
  • Ensure project compliance with national and local policies.
  • Review waste forecasting and proposed storage and transport solutions.
  • Assess spatial planning for waste systems at building and city scales.
  • Explore innovative waste technologies and waste reduction efforts.
  • Support bid preparation and technical report writing.
  • Help improve team processes and workload management.
  • Responsible for supporting in line management duties following designated onboarding period.

Qualifications

  • Academic background in waste management, engineering, environmental science or a related field.
  • Chartered membership (or equivalent professional status).
  • Significant experience in waste management or masterplanning.
  • A strong interest in circular economy and resource efficiency.
