This role will see you working as part of the Bath-based structural engineering team focussing on a diverse portfolio of projects in the UK and around the world. This is a technically demanding role and we are ideally looking for creative candidates with an interest/aptitude in computational techniques as well as being interested in being at the forefront of changes in the industry such as in reducing embodied carbon and modern methods of construction in structural design.

Your next role
The role of an Associate Structural Engineer can be very varied, duties will include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of Technical Specifications and checking the work/specifications of other Engineers in the team
- Leadership of projects on behalf of the group, taking ownership for sustained and productive client relationships.
- Reviewing job financial performance and managing resources accordingly.
- Guiding less experienced team members in order to achieve the project success.
- Supporting delivery of the team’s Performance and Development Review process.
- Providing support in seeking new work from existing clients.
- Preparing bid proposals and additional fee proposals (with the support of the Group Directors, Associate Directors and Bid team colleagues)
Your skills & experience
As an Associate Structural Engineer, we would expect that you will be able to demonstrate:
- An outstanding foundation as a technical and project leader; demonstrated via a track record of successful delivery over a sustained period within the industry.
- Mentoring and leadership experience of other Engineering professionals, desire and ability to support in developing individuals skills, whilst encouraging collaboration and cohesive teamwork.
- Overseas and domestic project experience, ideally within multiple sectors although BuroHappold's varied portfolio will further extend your breadth of experience
- Solid Educational foundation - ideally a degree and post-graduate qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline as well as professional registration with the ECUK or other body and membership of a relevant institution such as the ICE or IStructE.
