We’re looking for an experienced and people-focused Associate HR Consultant to join our India HR team, based in our Bengaluru office.
This role will support the people agenda for Buro Happold India, with a strong focus on partnering with leaders, managers and employees across our Bengaluru office and Global Collaboration Centre. You will play an important role in strengthening employee experience, performance, engagement, capability and culture, while supporting consistent and practical HR delivery across the business.

Your next role
This is an opportunity to help shape the people agenda for Buro Happold India, with primary responsibility for our Bengaluru office and Global Collaboration Centre. Working as part of the India HR team, you will partner with leaders, managers and employees to strengthen performance, capability, engagement and employee experience. You will combine trusted HR business partnering with practical delivery across talent, learning, employee relations, culture and change, contributing to both India and global people priorities.
Your key duties
- Act as the primary HR Business Partner supporting the wider India people agenda.
- Build trusted relationships with leaders and managers, providing practical and business-aligned HR guidance.
- Coach managers on performance management, employee development, employee relations and people leadership.
- Coordinate the annual performance review process and help improve the quality and consistency of objectives and performance conversations.
- Identify capability gaps and support learning, leadership development and professional development initiatives.
- Coordinate talent reviews, succession planning, internal mobility and career development activities.
- Support workforce planning, organisational change and business transformation programmes.
- Provide fair and consistent guidance on employee relations matters, policies and procedures.
- Lead and contribute to HR, engagement, culture and organisational effectiveness projects across India.
- Use people data and HR insights to inform decisions, track outcomes and continuously improve the employee experience.
- Collaborate with regional HR teams and Global Centres of Excellence to support consistency and local relevance.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 12-15 years of strong HR Business Partnering experience, ideally gained within professional services, engineering, consulting or a multinational organisation.
- The ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with senior leaders, managers and employees.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, coaching, facilitation and communication skills.
- Sound experience across performance management, employee relations, talent reviews, succession planning and learning and capability development.
- Confidence in managing employee relations matters independently, with a fair, pragmatic and commercially balanced approach.
- Strong project management, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to use people data and insights to guide decisions and improve HR delivery.
- Experience of working effectively within a global or complex matrix environment.
- A Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
- Exposure to a Global Collaboration Centre, shared services environment, organisational transformation, engineering consultancy or the built environment would be advantageous.
