- Acting a Project Leader for multi-disciplinary projects operating across multiple Groups, working with a Project Director to take overall responsibility for the technical and financial performance of the projects.
- Being a technical champion for the delivery of high quality, robust and correct designs
- Taking ownership for HVAC & PHE systems and resilient designs with an ability to mentor others while retaining responsibility for product delivery
- Participating in and ensuring delivery of high-level project technical/quality reviews of specifications, reports and drawings produced by the team.
- Mentoring more junior employees so that meaningful delegation can apply within the team.
- Ensuring the latest learning and development initiatives are implemented as required within the team.
- Preparing project delivery programmes and scheduling required resources, contributing to the Group's resource management activities to ensure the correct balance between resource requirements and resource availability.
- Supporting the rigorous analysis of performance across the department from a technical, commercial, financial and people perspective.
- Organising project workshops to ensure that the wider expertise of the firm is available to the project. Ensuring that regular project reviews are organized within the team to ensure detailed checking of output in accordance with our Quality Management System (QMS).
- Promoting Buro Happold’s integrated services to potential Clients.
- Reviewing financial and technical submissions/proposals; attending interviews.
- Developing and maintaining key client relationships under all circumstances, maximizing opportunities for repeat business.
- Delivering repeat business with key clients by virtue of a high quality delivery of existing projects.

- Play a significant leadership role on some of the most iconic and architecturally inspiring projects in ME, US & UK.
- Work within a truly multidisciplinary environment, capitalising on Buro Happold’s extensive knowledge base in building physics, micro-climate analysis, climate change mitigation and energy master planning to inform truly environmentally responsive MEP designs.
- Take ownership for external relationships with architects, clients, and contractors, supporting the group in generating new work-streams.
Your skills and experience
As an experienced Associate Director, it is expected that you can demonstrate...
- Experienced technical and commercial leader in the Mechanical and Public Health discipline; track record of exceptional delivery over a sustained period within the industry for local market in India (typically 15+ years).
- Extensive delivery experience in an MEP consultancy, ideally experienced on Middle East, UK & US projects.
- Demonstrable track-record mentoring and leading others,
- Developing individual skills, whilst encouraging collaboration and cohesive teamwork.
- Comfortable in an externally facing, business development role.
- Ideally, the candidate will have experience of working on a variety of challenging domestic/overseas projects.
- Experience of AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, IES, CSC Fastrack, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS and SAFE preferred although not essential.
- Accreditation from a chartered institute desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree (BEng) or Master’s degree (MEng) / MSc in Mechanical from premier institutes in India

- Setting a consistently high standard of project leadership and delivery; leading multi-disciplinary teams and representing the overall project at external and internal meetings, successfully coordinating and managing the varying demands of each discipline internally in on order to present a cohesive project team and “end-product” to the end-client;
- Delivering high standard, profitable projects that result in repeat work for the client and that can form a reference for new work with other clients;
- Leveraging the diverse skills and services offered by Buro Happold – in particular, driving and implementing strategic agendas as set by the business such as computational design and low carbon and net zero consultancy;
