Assistant Partnership Accountant

Buro Happold is a global engineering consultancy with a reputation for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Partnership Accountant to join our Partnership Finance team.

As an Assistant Partnership Accountant, you will support the Partnership Accountant in managing the financial affairs of our partners. This includes maintaining and reporting on partners' capital accounts, tax provisions, profit share calculations, and handling transactions for new and departing partners. You will also assist in the day-to-day financial operations of the Partnership.

Key duties:

  • Manage the financial aspects of onboarding new partners, including processing monthly payments, pension scheme setup, and tax registration.
  • Create financial statements for Capital, Monthly Reward, Profit Share, Taxation, and the Partner Share Scheme.
  • Assist in processing partner capital investments and liaise with banks regarding partner capital loans.
  • Prepare retirement statements for exiting partners.
  • Develop monthly drawings schedules and advance profit share payment calculations.
  • Maintain partner tax accounts and calculate estimated tax retentions.
  • Collaborate with the global finance team on non-partnership issues, providing opportunities for role expansion and development.

Your skills and experience:

  • Full or part-qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
  • Understanding of basic accounting standards and principles.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritise demands and ensure timely completion.
